STAY TUNED

“Brand New Strings has a brand new hit!  Their new single, 'Other Side of Lonesome' from their new album, STAY TUNED, is first class bluegrass!  WHOOOOOOOAAAAA!  Love it! I'm still smiling!!”
Grace Muldoon
 WorldWideBluegrass.com

"Brand New Strings givin' all of us some great new bluegrass to listen to and spin with their new album STAY TUNED. We get excited about it every time! They're hot!"

NO STRINGS ATTACHED

"
Brand New Strings plays hardcore bluegrass for the hardcore fan.  These are exciting, fresh, songs played and sung by superbly talented musicians and singers in a take-no-prisoners, no apologies, strictly bluegrass style.  This is bluegrass the way it ought to be!"
Kyle Cantrell (SIRIUS XM Radio)

"
It’s not much of a stretch to call Brand New Strings the most exciting traditional bluegrass debut since Dailey & Vincent."
The Bluegrass Special

"I have one thing to say about this CD from Brand New Strings. Wow! From the first note till the last one fades away this project is exceptional."

luegrass Music Profiles

“Just a note to thank Rural Rhythm and to comment on the addition of Brand New Strings.  I don't do reviews, but this group should receive numerous nominations for Emerging Artist of the Year at IBMA in the Fall.  See you in Nashville!”
Don Igoe
“Pickin' the Grass" WAPS-FM, Akron, Ohio)

"..the sound is classic, with sublime harmonies – voices and instruments blend and weave together seamlessly - and the picking throughout is exemplary. Brand New Strings aren’t trying to reinvent bluegrass, nor are they attempting to expand the genre’s musical palette. Rather, they’re working within robust and time-tested parameters, relying on skill and honest, heartfelt expression. And No Strings Attached works on every level.

This is good stuff …!
BLOG CRITICS

"What a great job y'all did on the CD. In my humble opinion, Brand New Strings is THE Emerging Artist of 2010!
Joe Wills (Burlington County Bluegrass, WBZC)

"Brand New Strings is a brand new ball game!! Excellent vocals, picking, and material is way above the average for an already established group! Probably the BEST debut album from a group in a long, long time!"
Buddy Michaels
(Hometown Festival Radio, Snow Camp, NC)

"Brand New Strings, part of that enterprise, is an aggregate of extremely adept players with a powerful focus and strong sense of identity that produces flawless playing and truly fine singing…and the humorously convincing cover art, posing the release as a faux set of guitar strings, shows they also have an earthy way about them, something quite readily heard all through the disc."
FAME

"Overall this is a bluegrass project which will not only be attractive to bluegrass fans. Perfect instrumental skills combined with excellent harmonies are for sure earcatchers for other music fans too."
American-Country CD Reviews

"Merry Go Round sets the tone for this exceptional project. It stars out going 1k per hour and doesn't stop for anything. Each and every song has something important to leave the listener. Some of the songs stress strong lead singing, others feature superb harmony vocals, and all have stellar instrumental work. For people looking for great traditional bluegrass, this project fits the bill. I especially enjoyed the thought provoking lyrics of the original songs. I found that you had to listen to this project several times in order to fully appreciate it. I played the entire CD and my request line went into overdrive! I know that I will be playing many of these songs for many months to come."
Al Shusterman
(KCBL Radio - Backroads Bluegrass, Sacramento, CA)

"AWESOME...HARD DRIVING...FESTIVARIANS LOVE 'EM... Bluegrass at it's BEST.  Energetic and exiting showmanship.  Great musicianship and vocals.  I can't wait until I hear Brand New Strings next show!!”
Bertie Sullivan (Festival Promoter)

"This is a band that demands national attention before the release of their debut CD. They embody all the best traits of a modern day bluegrass band with their masterful musicianship and flawless harmonies built from a lifetime of loving and respecting the fathers while reaching to the future with an anticipation that shows in the freshness of their music.  You can't go wrong with
Brand New Strings."
Charlie Hansen
(CFCY FM 95.1 Charlottetown PEI Canada)

“Brand New Strings sounds just like the name says. From hard driving Traditional, to smooth Contemporary, to Amen Corner standing on its feet a cappella songs, this East Tennessee Bluegrass group has its own sound. Producer, Steve Gulley (Grasstowne) has helped make an outstanding debut project from some very talented singers, songwriters and players. Brand New Strings NO STRINGS ATTACHED is sure to be one of the
best of 2010."
Dennis Jones (WNCW Radio, NC)

“Brand New Strings is a great new Bluegrass group that is sure to please bluegrass fans world wide. Though they are a new group, individually they have many years of bona fide experience from playing in various bands. I am an admirer of good vocal harmony and I enjoy the style of harmony that these guys present. Not only are they good musicians and singers, they are good people!”
Jamie S. Dailey (Dailey and Vincent)

“Brand New Strings new album, NO STRINGS ATTACHED is hard-driving, smooth yet raw-edged original East Tennessee bluegrass!  It’s a distinctive sound with a distinguished lineage, and Brand New Strings is a worthy bearer of the tradition.  Good stuff, guys!”
Tim Stafford (Blue Highway)

"I've known most of the members of BRAND NEW STRINGS for long time and am proud to call them my friends. They are a great new band with a fresh new sound that commands your attention.  Real bluegrass from the real deal. These guys know the music and it shows!”
Steve Gulley
(Grasstowne band member and
Brand News Strings CD Producer)

"Brand New Strings is a band steeped in bluegrass's rich traditional sound, but with a more contemporary approach from seasoned pickers.  Rich, dynamic mountain harmonies highlight this band, which I am sure we will all be hearing a lot more from! Their songwriting and arrangements make for an exciting bluegrass experience."
Lou Reid
(Lou Reid and Carolina, The Seldom Scene)

"Two generations wide and four generations long.....' - Brand News Strings brings us a Progressive/Traditional new tune, Law of the Land in both instrumental musicianship, vocals/harmonies and lyrical story. I'm spinning this one this Friday night on my show and I can't wait to hear the
whole album."

"Over the years, bluegrass fans have benefited when established musicians decide to join forces to form new bands.  Once again, the bluegrass world has another new group to be excited about.  Brand New Strings is the result of several talented musicians from East Tennessee who shared a desire to take their music to another level. The group consists of Stuart Wyrick (banjo), Mike Ramsey (Mandolin), and Randall Massengill (guitar) all founding members of popular bluegrass gospel group New Road along with Blue Moon Rising alumni Tim Tipton (bass) and Matt Leadbetter (dobro).  Massengill, who also played in Blue Moon Rising at one time, and Ramsey will each contribute original material to the group. Combine great songs with strong vocals and some hard driving bluegrass and you've got Brand New Strings."
